Each lan the tournaments seem a little less organised, there are always conflicting times between Dota and CoD4 matches. I think FRAG should consider making a schedule of specific times each for each match

Example:

Friday:

20:00 - Dota Round 1
21:00 - CoD4 Round 1
22:00 - Dota Round 2
23:00 - CoD4 Round 2

Saturday:

times...

Obviously the admin team will need to specify times and players will need to be available

Sadly, altho I would like it to run like that as well, it will never happen since ppl needs breaks, ppl go buy food, ppl are emo etc... So you gonna have to make concessions and since having a set schedule means you can't have concessions, you can't have a set schedule :(

well, ja, this would be awesome, in fact, Captain Awesome would be in awe of this... but as Doppl3R said, unfortunately not likely to happen.

1st Round of CoD4 can sometimes take up to 4-6 hours, depending on PB issues, game issues, etc. I can't say too much of DoTA, but also, being the 1st round, the round usually takes longer... after that, the rounds tend to fly past quite quickly, provided all the niggling issues are sorted out.

The other way we could run the tournaments as suggested above is this, gamers who enter the tournaments, only enter ONE tournament. Then you should be able to stick to a schedule effectively. But since we are trying to give the opportunity to play as much as possible, those teams/gamers that would like to enter both, are able to do so.. and within reason and to date i don't think the clashing has been so bad that we have had to relook at the situation and change things... with each event, the tournament admins are learning to work together better to ensure we all have a smooth running event...

so ya, in a perfect world, definitely... ;)

Well I was speaking to Nick and he said many ppl were speaking to him asking for byes on Friday cos they had player issues, and due to this he was thinking he would rather just start the tourney on Sat morning. Note, this is not set in stone, and is just an idea.

If this is the case. Why not just spam as much of the Cod4 tourney on Friday night?

well, if this was the case, then i have no problem with it... we can get COD4 going straight away and get possibly 2 rounds finished Friday night...

Getting cod over will be helpfull but the pb is an issue. PPL must just learn to dissable it then it will work.... well most of the time. Its hard to get a full structured time table when teams are playing cod, dota, sf4, gh and what ever else.

The problem is that teams take too long to join a server. Once they know they gonna play, they know they have 10 min to join their server and use the full 10 to do other stuff then sometimes go over.
Can the admins plz make sure all teams join the server as soon as drafting is over.
If pb needs to be updated then that should have been done at home or as soon as their computer was set up.

A 10 min count down should start as soon as the 1st person joins the server. If the server fails everyone has to reconnect strait away, no delay AND COMMUNICATE with the other team whats going on if errors are happening and call and admin don't just sit there trying to sort it out yourself if you don't not knowing what you are doing for you are putting the rest of the compotition on hold for being an ass

indeed - and it is and i seriously consider it to always be an issue...

PB issues are getting progressively better and so is the general understanding of the tournaments. i can safely say this as we are running the tournaments in more or less the same time with 16 teams as opposed to when we ran it with 10-12 teams...

it's getting there... ;)
