FRAG's last event was a huge success to say the least... A HUGE thanks to all the gamers that attended as well as to the spectators, girlfriends, boyfriends, friends, parents, kids, etc. who came to the event. With school breaking up and bookings flooding in, FRAG saw almost 300 gamers at the event proving that gaming is truly growing in KZN!! Welcome to all the new faces and gamers we welcomed at the LAN, we hope to see you again. As for the weekend's gaming, all was smooth as per the usual and the network as awesome. Tournaments The usual COD4 and DoTA tournaments were held, however a new addition to FRAG we welcome maXima Gaming into the fray. maXima Gaming hosted the XBox tournaments in Street Fighter 4, FiFA '09 and Guitar Hero: Legends of Rock. maXima Gaming will now be running XBox tournaments at every FRAG and will also be starting a XBox 360 LAN to compliment the FRAG PC LAN. As for the finals area, this was indeed the best yet, with all the finals in the tournaments being played on stage with the crowd watching. Lights and sound setup for the Guitar Hero tournament created a true "guitar hero" atmosphere and was a spectacular way to end the tournament. Next Event - 1st May 2009 @ Edgewood, Pinetown starting at 12pm. The next installment of FRAG is happening the 1st May 2009 and due to this being a public holiday, the LAN should be opening at midday on Friday the 1st May! this means gaming can start right away and continue for almost 3 DAYS!!! Prizes for the next event could already include a paid-for trip to OC LAN in Cape Town (TBC) for the COD4 winners as well as NAG and PCF magazine subscriptions. Look out for our mystery competition as everyone at the LAN will be eligible to enter and will win another awesome prize. The "mystery" competition at the April event saw the winner walk away with a Radio Controlled Helicopter sponsored by NGR Computers. Below is just one of the many pictures available on our forums:
A very big thanks goes out to the following for making the latest FRAG April event possible: Omega Distributors Gamer-Gear Ipeg NGR Computers and the whole of the FRAG crew for making this arguably FRAG's best event to date!! Thanks also due to maXima Gaming for coming on-board with FRAG and we are fortunate to have maXima Gaming on full-time for the future... |
